Convert PVM to VMDK

File Extension PVM
Full Name Parallels Desktop Virtual Machine Format

PVM is a file format used by an operating system virtualization tool called Parallels Desktop. PVM files are used to store information that is a data carrier for a parallel virtual machine, such as a hard disk or floppy disk. These files can also be mounted on the operating system as virtual disks using Parallels Mounter.

File Extension VMDK
Full Name VMware Virtual Disk Format

Files with the .VMDK extension contain data in the form of a virtual disk representing the contents of the VMware virtual machine hard disk. Access to the VMDK drive is possible in the same way as access to the physical drive using virtualization software.

What is file format conversion?

File format conversion is the process of transforming a file from one format (referred to as "PVM") to another (referred to as "VMDK"). This may be necessary for various reasons. For example, PVM file may be incompatible with the software or device we want to use to open or edit it. In such cases, converting the file from format PVM to format VMDK becomes essential.

So, how can we perform PVM to VMDK file conversion? Fortunately, there are many tools and computer programs available that enable file format conversion. These tools work by reading the data from the file in format PVM and transforming it into format VMDK. This allows the preservation of the original information contained in the file, even after changing its format. Below you will find a list of PVM to VMDK converters.
