What is a BIMX file?
BIMX is a file format developed by Archicad company. BIMX files are used for storing 2D and 3D data generated by Archicad CAD software. Scenes exported to BIMX files can be viewed on desktop computers or mobile devices running under Android or IOS systems.
BIMX files may also be exported to a cloud-based storage offered by such services as Dropbox or iCloud Drive to ensure a better data synchronization across various devices. BIMX files, besides a project model previews, can also contain additional information related to given project or design or its elements.

If you cannot open the BIMX file on your computer - there may be several reasons. The first and most important reason (the most common) is the lack of a suitable software that supports BIMX among those that are installed on your device.

The second and more difficult to do is associate the BIMX file extension to the corresponding software in the Windows Registry.
Is there one way to open unknown files?
Many files contain only simple text data. It is possible that while opening unknown files (e.g. BIMX) with a simple text editor like Windows Notepad will allow us to see some of the data encoded in the file. This method allows you to preview the contents of many files, but probably not in such a structure as a program dedicated to support them.
